Member visit: Viridor
Viridor, a leading waste-to-energy and recycling business
One of the Trustee Board’s key responsibilities is to pay benefits to members as they fall due. To this end, we believe the Scheme’s investments should be managed to create sustainable long-term value. Key to this responsibility is risk management, including the risk posed to the Scheme by climate change.
Members had the chance to see one of the Scheme’s UK infrastructure investments in action this summer, and get to understand its sustainability credentials, when they joined us on a trip to Viridor, a leading waste-to-energy and recycling business, in Avonmouth, Bristol. Pension investment can feel a bit complicated and theoretical, so what better way to show members how the Scheme’s money is actually invested?
